Terms & Conditions

  • We run our pottery workshops at our studio and shop situated in Blackwood just north of Caerphilly. Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the purchase date. Workshops are hosted Wednesdays, Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays  11:00am - 1:00pm or 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
  • COVID-19: Due to COVID-19 please do not come to the studio if you are experiencing any symptoms. You must wear a mask for the session. To make the environment as safe as possible we would appreciate if you bring your on mask.
  • The voucher entitles the number of people specified to attend the same two hour private Masterclass at the Matthew Jones Ceramics studio. We will send you a voucher either by post or email.
  • We will get in contact with you to arrange a mutually convenient date and time for your session. Once the session date and time is arrange you must give us 48 hours notice if you wish to change this. If you cancel past that time, your booking will be non refundable and are unable to be rescheduled.
  • If you do not show up to your arranged Masterclass the voucher becomes void. This cannot be taken at a later date and no reimbursement will be offered.
  • The Masterclasses start on time, if you are late you can join the Masterclass but time cannot be made up at the end of the session.
  • The voucher cannot be exchanged and is non-refundable.
  • Working with clay can be very messy. We supply aprons but it is best if you come in clothes and footwear you don't mind getting dirty. No watches or jewellery to be worn and you may want to tie your hair back in preparation. Matthew Jones Ceramics will not be held responsible for any damage to clothing, shoes, jewellery, watches or mobile devices whilst in the studio.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session.
  • The voucher includes a 2 hour pottery masterclass which includes firing and glazing of all work produced.
  • The firing of your work can take up to 6 weeks. Once fired and ready we will contact you to arrange a pick up from our studio in Blackwood. If you would like them to be posted to you we post using Royal Mail 48 Tracked and Signed For. We will send you an email with the postage costs, and will only post the items once we have received payment for the postage. We pack everything very carefully and thoroughly, however ceramics can break in transit. If your items break in the post we will not refund the voucher cost nor the postage cost.
  • Once your items are fired we will hold them for 12 weeks. Any work not collected or posted after this date will unfortunately be discarded due to minimal studio space.
  • Please be aware you are in a working studio and shop environment and due care and attention must be given. If you accidentally break something you are liable to pay for it.
  • Matthew Jones Ceramics will not be held responsible for any injury you may incur during the Masterclass
  • Any misconduct or disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave and not be refunded.
  • All work made in classes will be bisque fired and kiln fired. Please be aware that although every due care and attention is given to every piece we put in the kiln, once inside the kiln we cannot be held responsible for any work that cracks, explodes or is damaged due to another object exploding. This unfortunately, is out of our hands and is part of the many beauties and difficulties of working with clay.
