The Ceramic Studio

All workshops take place at our purpose built ceramics studio in South Wales. It’s a welcoming space with a warm, informal atmosphere always filled with chatter, creativity and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. We regularly host guests from Bristol, Cardiff, the Valleys, and beyond from first-time potters to experienced makers.

Skills You Will Learn

Each Pottery Masterclass covers every step of the ceramic making process — from centring clay to throwing and decorating your own bespoke items.

By the end of the session, you’ll have created three functional pieces of stoneware tableware that are dishwasher, microwave, and food safe.

We start with three balls of clay and finish with three fully glazed pieces, fired to stoneware temperature. Your finished ceramics will be ready for collection from our studio in Blackwood, South Wales, around six weeks later. The workshops are two hours long. If you're curious about what a session involves, check out our blog post for a behind-the-scenes look at our most popular pottery classes near Cardiff.

Everything is clear glazed and fired up to stoneware temperatures giving it that distinctive finish and your work will be ready and waiting for you to be picked up back where it all began at our workshop in Blackwood, South Wales.

Your pots will be ready to collect from our Blackwood ceramics studio around six weeks after your session. If you want more info, check out our blog post here where we walk you through what a workshop looks like.
