St Fagans x Matthew Jones Ceramics

A Full Circle Moment at St Fagans National Museum of History

Here’s a closer look at a small collection we’ve been working on recently, a bespoke range of plates, cups, and bowls made in collaboration with Museum Wales at St Fagans National Museum of History.

St Fagans is a place many of us in South Wales grow up visiting school trips, family days out, running around in the holidays. It’s a special place, and one that holds a lot of fond memories for me.

I also spent two years working in the pottery there whilst studying ceramics. I loved it. And if I hadn’t spent that time there, I honestly don’t think I’d be doing what I do now.

So when I got the call to collaborate on a project to develop a range of ceramics inspired by the site, it felt like a real full-circle moment.

To now have pieces I’ve made connected to a place that played such a big part in my journey… that’s pretty special.
