Pottery Workshop – Cardiff Coffee Festival | Make Your Own Coffee Cup @Insol Court
Join us for a special pottery workshop at Cardiff Coffee Festival, held at Insole Court on Saturday 14th June. This hands-on ceramic class is a unique opportunity to design and make your own speciality coffee cup, guided step-by-step in a relaxed and creative setting.
Over the course of this two-hour pottery workshop, you’ll be introduced to both wheel throwing and hand building techniques, before decorating your piece to make it truly your own. Whether you’re completely new to clay or have some experience, this session is designed to be accessible, engaging, and inspiring.
We’ll begin with a short demonstration on the pottery wheel, along with a discussion around what makes a great coffee cup - exploring form, function, and the details that elevate your daily brew. Using a selection of handmade examples for inspiration, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the ceramic making process behind the cups you use every day.
With guidance throughout, you’ll shape, refine, and decorate your own cup — a piece that reflects both your creativity and your connection to the craft.

- Introduction to wheel throwing and hand building
- Step-by-step guidance from an experienced ceramicist
